Colorbiotics Operations Manager (1804447) - Ames, IA

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a talented professional like you to direct the daily activities within the Colorbiotics plant located in Ames, Iowa, as well as actively participate in other departments like Supply Chain, Planning and Scheduling, Marketing and Sales, Quality, Strategy Implementation & R&D.

In this role, you will be charged with ensuring products are produced safely and shipped on time, at budgeted cost, with the correct quality. In addition, you will be an integral member of the Management Team with a unique opportunity to drive change and leave your mark on the Business’s strategy and culture.

While you will manage the production and warehouse capabilities of this plant, the site also has Sales, Marketing, R&D, QC, Finance, Supply Chain, and Technical Services integrated into it. You will be a good team member with strong communication skills and lead by example.

  • Relying upon your commitment to safety, employee health, the environment, and your knowledge of EHS rules and regulations, you will ensure all aspects of production are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

  • As a role model, you will lead and inspire your direct and indirect reports to meet established business requirements for safety, quality, volume, and cost.

  • Your demonstrated leadership experience within a process manufacturing environment will be a valued asset as you ensure resources are appropriately directed to meet operational and business priorities.

  • Your strong business and financial acumen will be useful as you support the budget process for operations that meet business targets and expectations, and as you track performance and implement solutions if tracking negatively versus the budget.

  • Displaying your commitment to LEAN or similar process improvement methodologies, you will ensure best practices in all aspects of operations are shared and implemented across the site.

  • Leveraging your education and professional background in a technical field, you will define and execute standard operating parameters (e.g., capacities, rates, costs, headcount, quality, waste) for the plant.

  • Successfully engaging across the site and business, you will manage the interface between production, warehouse and maintenance. You will ensure effective communication and teamwork with other areas of the business not managed to help accomplish site and business objectives.
