Instrument Design Engineer (1802815) – Angleton, TX

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to provide providing instrument, electrical and controls engineering expertise to the Freeport site. In this role, you will assure proper design, installation, startup, maintenance and repair of instrumentation, electrical equipment, and process control systems according to regulatory and BASF standards.

Formula for Success

· Leveraging your educational background in Electrical or Chemical Engineering (or a similar discipline) and your professional experience in Instrumentation, Electrical, and Control Systems (DCS, SIS, PLC), you will direct the Instrument design functions for capital projects including, but not limited to, conception (scoping, estimating, or planning), design, and execution.

· Your strong commitment to workplace safety will be essential as you drive compliance with all environmental, safety and health (EHS) requirements.

· Successfully engaging across the organization, you will partner with I&E designers, other design discipline engineers, production personnel, maintenance personnel, construction personnel, process engineers, project engineers, and project managers to ensure proper flow of task execution and achievement of business goals.

· Your solid understanding of Instrumentation and Control Systems will be a valued asset as you ensure adherence to BASF Technical Standards, Industry Standards, and applicable regulatory codes during execution of capital projects and when providing technical assistance during commissioning, startup, and construction.

· With your prior background as a Design Lead, you will be accountable for the ownership of the Instrument Design whether executed in house or as oversight role if executed with an Engineering partner.

· Your solid attention to detail will be of immense importance as you will develop construction packages, monitor estimates and manpower forecasts, and provide timely and effective communications regarding project activity.

· Your dedication to continuous improvement will be evident as you develop and implement process improvement plans that will enhance project execution efficiency and cost allocations.
