Solid State Synthesis Team Leader (1901863) – Beachwood, OH
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to for lead and coordinate the synthesis and characterization of lithium ion battery (LIB) cathode materials. You will develop new cathode material design and synthesis approaches, conceive and implement predictive models of cathode performance, be responsible for cathode materials scale-up, and coordinate the refinement of the synthesis parameters with colleagues in RCN/BK, RCN/D (Ludwigshafen, Amagasaki and Shanghai). As a manager, the incumbent will supervise a team of technicians for cathode material projects, assist in the coordination of the workflow in the calcination lab and assist in pilot plant operations
Formula for Success
Utilizing your advanced education in Materials Science combined with your related experience in synthesis and characterization of LIB Cathode Materials, LIB cell testing experience, and XRD techniques, you will conduct independent research leading to the establishment and improvement of transition metal oxide cathode materials.
Leveraging your hands-on experience with laboratory and pilot scale synthesis equipment as well as your experiece with high temperature processing of LIB cathode materials and unit operations, you will supervise and plan workflow in the calcination lab and evaluate results from the sythesis of cathode materials, including the characterization of electromechanical testing.
Your strong technical leadership skills will be key as you manage and develop team members and develop site talent.
Engaging across the organization, you will consistently propose ideas, solutions and projects and will coordinate with engineering, technical service and sales and marketing for the development of processes and products.
Your previous international team experience combined with your experience working on collaborative projects, will enable you to coordinate synthesis of cathode materials with scale-up teams in Ludwigshafen, Beachwood and Amagasaki and to coordinate and plan long range synthesis of cathode materials.
