What you can expect
In the position of a DevOps Engineer as a team member of the product team 'Timemanagement & CRM' you support our customers in complex HR applications in the context of time management processes. In complex projects as well as other business requirements you will assume responsibility for the analysis and design of technical solutions, as well as development, testing and quality assurance.
You will take over the responsibility for the design of technical solutions for subject-specific business requirements in coordination with other DevOps engineers, internal and external business partners.
The analyses and implementation of legal regulations or company agreements in SAP HCM module time management will be your main responsibility.
Implementation through development (ABAP/ ABAP OO) and/or customizing in SAP and of apps will be among your responsibilities.
You will also test complex applications, including quality assurance and managing projects in cooperation with external business partners.
You will provide support during the development of estimates of time, effort and expense as well as management of the technical supply concepts during the proposal process and will ensure the further development, evolution and optimization.
Alongside performing studies and evaluations of purchased software, you will be responsible for designing and implementing prototypes in projects with new technologies such as S4/HANA and in a distributed system landscape (SAP UI5, Cloud solutions, Apps).
Furthermore you are interested to evaluate and implement new technologies like RPA and machine learning to gain business benefits.
In your work, you will apply the standardized BASF processes and tools such as Project Lifecycle, SAP Solution Manager as well as Agile working methodology consistently.
What we expect
a degree in computer science (especially business informatics) or comparable qualifications
experience in human resources preferred
fundamental programming skills in ABAP/ABAP Objects or other programming languages/technologies such as Java, SAP Web Dynpro, SAP HCM, SAP UI5 (FIORI) or Eclipse
several years of experience in serving and advising customers with complex SAP applications
knowledge of HR processes, especially for time management, would be a plus
excellent communication skills in English
ability to communicate complex contexts convincingly to the stakeholders within BASF and build stable relationships
German language would be a plus
affinity for technology
knowledge in RPA and machine learning
