In our Service Unit Intellectual Property, we are responsible for all services relating to Intellectual Property, i.e. patents, trademarks, trade secrets, plant variety protection, copyrights, designs and IP Intelligence, as well as all IP-contracts. We are a global team servicing the entire BASF group and work in close alliance with the operating business units as well as with the research and technology platforms. In this way we create a basis for future business success and actively influence BASF's competitive situation.
What you can expect
The IP Intelligence unit of the Global Intellectual Property department supports BASF worldwide along the entire innovation chain with professional information analyses. Our service portfolio ranges from trend identification and classic IP searches to complex landscape analyses, technology studies and registration searches.
As a member of our Berlin team in the Chemicals and Engineering group, you will act as a global contact person for professional patent information analyses with a focus on chemicals, battery materials and digitalization.
From day one, you will be involved in BASF's research and development projects and support them with business as well as research relevant information.
In close cooperation with the patent department and the divisions, you conduct information analyses to secure future business areas.
You also prepare technology and competitor analyses to support our research as well as business units in their strategic decision-making.
In interdisciplinary project teams, you will develop technologies to optimize information management and help shape the future information landscape.
What we expect
above-average degree in a scientific or technical field, preferably in inorganic, physical or technical chemistry, additional Ph.D. is an advantage
profound understanding of industrial research and development
ideally knowledge of professional scientific information analyses as well as basic knowledge of patents
independent and self-reliant working style in order to quickly and flexibly familiarize with new tasks
strong communication skills in English and/or German
enthusiasm to develop innovative solutions and to implement them in a team
