Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager – Charlotte, NC
Where the Chemistry Happens
The Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for defining, deploying and governing the execution of Operational Excellence and Quality Management Systems, Lean and Six Sigma, and OpEx EBIT Contribution, for the N-EDN sites in North America and is responsible for leadership and development of employees in the organization with more than 50 direct and indirect reports.
In addition, this position ensures appropriate tolling activities including EHS audits and Quality audits to ensure that performance of tollers is commensurate with that of BASF facilities.
The Dispersions and Resins Quality and CI Manager is also responsible for the Charlotte Campus Site in Charlotte, NC
Formula for Success
Lead an organization of highly skilled subject matter team members to provide resources for N-EDN to meet performance excellence targets are achieved in alignment with business strategies.
Responsible for guiding manufacturing team in the development and execution of a 5-year OpEx plan that targets an EBIT contribution of $30M per annum.
Validate compliance with quality management, Responsible Care Management Systems (RCMS), regulations, and other key metrics used to drive business results.
Train, certify, and, where needed, facilitate Lean and Six Sigma methodologies target at reducing waste and eliminating variation needed for continuous improvement.
Implement Global Quality (ED/Q) strategies in the North America region.
Ensure that quality standards, quality assurance practices, and EH&S standards are implemented consistently and transparently across all N-EDN/O manufacturing sites and plants, as well as the two Charlotte facilities.
Engage with Procurement, Tolling companies, R&D, Manufacturing and EHS in ensuring that tollers have non-disclosure agreements, contracts, EHS audits, Quality audits, manufacturing procedures, and technical support to meet business requirements.
Support the development and implementation of ED Asset Strategy
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry/Engineering discipline or technical degree is required.
MBA is a plus
Minimum 10 years of experience in the production & manufacturing environment and/or services area, including knowledge of quality, manufacturing and CI.
