We are seeking a professional like you to be responsible for site controlling in EDN, Dispersions and Resins NA. This role will be located at CTC in Charlotte, NC but provide site controlling services to sites remotely. In this role, you will support the development, execution and tracking of the site’s overall cost budget, internal controls, and provide guidance in all financial matters. You will report to the Finance Business Manager, Dispersions and Resins NA (N-EDN/C) and liaise with the Dispersions and Resins regional and divisional controlling teams, site leadership team, and the North America regional accounting platform. You will also participate in the site leadership team.

Formula for Success

  • Your keen attention to detail will enable you to execute the onsite implementation of adequate internal controls and ensure that they are maintained so that inventories, M&E and other company assets are maintained and reported appropriately during all phases of plant operations.

  • Your solid knowledge of computer programs such as MS Office and SAP will aid you as you direct the preparation (including SAP and management reporting) of the site’s operating plan, forecast, and YTD performance.

  • Leveraging your bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting and your financial analysis and/or operational accounting experience, you will provide site specific finance-related guidance to unit leadership and cost transparency including cost tracking for impacts associated with business changes impacting the plant (e.g., new product introduction, asset utilization, inventory targets, new capital projects, M&A, site reorganizations). Additionally, you will use this knowledge to counsel and advise operations leadership on finance-related implications associated with management decisions regarding plant assets (e.g. inventory valuation / asset impairments / capital vs expense).

  • Using your strong communication skills to successfully engage across the organization, you will collaborate with plant, site and business leadership on proactively determining the overall impacts of site and plant spending decisions on product costing, asset reliability, and fixed cost targets. Additionally, you will use these skills to proactively engage with plant and site leadership on developing key performance indicators (KPIs) for the plant that aligns to site and business targets and provides active monitoring and reporting transparency.

  • Your ability to act as a change agent for continuous improvement initiatives at the site will be essential as you proactively evaluate and explore opportunities to drive cost improvements, simplicity and reduce complexity with cost transparency through implementation support and continuous monitoring.

  • Utilizing your experience in project economic evaluation and justification, you will actively support business/site-specific activities and special projects (including unique site/business tasks), coordinate & evaluate the gathering of fixed cost forecast data, and present to business and plant management an explanation of actual site performance versus plan and forecast.

  • Relying on your strong business acumen, you will support the development and execution of the plant strategic development plan, including asset strategies and operational excellence initiatives.

  • Influencing others without direct authority, you will work to build a culture of Safety, Continuous Improvement and Customer Focus while creating an atmosphere where employees can do their best work. An example of this will be your focus on identifying areas to improve the transparent cost accounting for business steering, including ad-hoc reporting and providing impacts / gap analysis for fixed cost budget versus target differences.

  • Demonstrating your strong ability to lead, you will manage the development, implementation and control of the sites cost plans and capital expenditures.
