Reliability Engineer ( 2102996) – Elyria, OH
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to drive reliability performance by using the most appropriate and effective tools and techniques. You will lead reliability processes including Equipment Maintenance Strategies, Root Cause Failure Analyses, Mechanical Integrity, Predictive Maintenance and PM programs. You will provide technical support to Maintenance and Operations. Additionally, you will ensure a culture of continuous improvement employing LEAN Manufacturing tools.
Formula for Success:
Leveraging your education in Mechanical Engineering and your experience in equipment reliability within a chemical manufacturing environment you will analyze Asset Effectiveness data and Key Performance Indicators and develop Equipment Maintenance Strategies to minimize downtime.
Your robust analytical skills will be essential as you lead reliability processes (e.g., Bad Actor Management, FMEA, RBI, Reliability Roadmap) to drive improvements, optimize costs, and improve assets. You will conduct work order review, supporting and optimizing Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) plans.
Demonstrating your thorough knowledge of mechanical equipment design and detailed understanding of maintenance and reliability activities associated with process equipment such as pumps, piping, pressure vessels, atmospheric storage tanks, relief devices, compressors and boilers will enable you to maintain the site programs for Mechanical/Asset Integrity.
Your experience with PdM tools (vibration analysis, lube oil analysis, thermography, etc.) will enable you to evaluate equipment condition and identify improvement opportunities.
Applying your experience with manufacturing reporting systems, specifically experience using SAP, will be a valued asset as you provide expertise in utilizing the SAP maintenance system. You will be responsible for accurate PM plans, task lists and assuring SAP information is sustainable in the future.
Displaying strong communications skills will be an asset as you provide facts and figures to collaborate with Engineers, Maintenance and Operations Personnel to provide design review, repair, and maintenance support, including optimization of maintenance activities.
Relying upon ability to read piping & instrumentation drawings, engineering specifications & drawings, and vendor-supplied information will benefit you as you ensure continuous improvement to the maintenance work processes to enhance plant availability.
Your unwavering commitment to compliance and safety will be evident as you ensure compliance with all environmental, safety, and health requirements and promote a safe environment.
Your familiarity with BASF Technical standards, procurement policies, material control/expediting, estimating tools, the project execution process, as well as site and plant procedures will be advantageous as you develop and implement programs to ensure compliance with all BASF technical engineering standards, including pipe specifications.
