Contact Supervisor – Erie, PA (1900793)

The contact supervisor is:

Responsible for the development and achievement of department standards regarding the safety, quality and productivity requirements of the manufacturing departments aligned with the departmental, divisional and corporate objectives.

Responsible for the compliance and enforcement of all safety, environmental, ISO, and plant policies and procedures. Assuring the development and direction of employees through actively coaching/instructing/training individuals to utilize resources to their fullest potential.

Responsible for supporting ZIM & ZLoC (Zero Incident & Loss of Containment Mindsets), JTE (Journey to Excellence) Program, and RCMS (Responsible Care Management System)

This is 24-hour operation 7 days a week. The hours for this position may change in the future

Responsible for identifying and issuing timely disciplinary action for attendance, job performance and/or non-compliance with plant/government regulations

Supervisors are directly accountable for the departmental production of quality products on time and in specification through the efficient utilization of labor, equipment and material.

Responsible for assuring employees maintain equipment in proper condition to minimize downtime or major maintenance repairs. Responsible for input to the development of cost center budgets.

Safety - Responsible for promoting a safe work culture through educating, training, establishing standards and following all applicable company procedures along with consistent follow up on department/employee practices. Recognizes and accepts that the safety performance of their area is fully their responsibility and accountability. Will be responsible for environmental awareness and performance (waste reduction, Title V compliance, effluent, etc. and accept the principle that all injuries and releases are preventable (ZIM & ZLoC- Zero Incident & Loss of Containment Mindsets)

Training - Assure employees, (including new hires or transferees) are trained/oriented in the safety, quality, customer and productivity standards of their jobs utilizing resources such as Job Safety Practices (JSP) and Manufacturing Operating Documents (MOD)

Manufacturing - Responsible for maintaining the production requirements of the department through the planning of order runs including verification of material inventories, labor scheduling, specification tolerances, shipping requirements and shipping date. Basic troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems

Productivity - Responsible for the identification and implementation of on-going reduction of costs associated with productivity projects. Assure the utilization of a needs analysis of cost opportunities based on waste, labor, delays, etc., a root cause analysis of contributing factors, a cost benefit analysis to justify project, validated by financial department for cost saving/avoidance opportunities

Costing - Responsible for cost awareness, monitoring and identification of opportunities and control of financial accounts with emphasis on the budget to actual expense variance on direct/indirect labor, materials, equipment preventative maintenance/repair

Employee Development - Responsible for the training and development of employees in accordance with safety, quality, environmental policies and procedures of the company. Ability to influence others through personal example, communication and coaching/mentoring

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For InYou…

Basic Qualifications:

  • HighSchool Diploma required

  • 5years of manufacturing experience is required

  • 1year of industrial machine operation is required

  • 1year of working experience with Microsoft Office software required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAPexperience preferred

  • Supervisoryexperience in manufacturing is preferred

  • Chemicalmanufacturing experience preferred
