Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to analyze, advise, decide, and recommend to BASF senior executives on investment options for North American defined benefit (DB) pension plan assets, funding requirements/strategies, and monitoring daily performance over time. In addition, you will advise and recommend on the selection of investment options for North American defined contribution (DC) plans. Maintaining low Fund costs is a high priority. This position is an individual contributor role, fully responsible for outcome of decisions and managing $3 billion plus in assets and the external relationships with our retained investment consulting firm, fund managers, and other advisors.

Formula for Success

  • Your advanced education and professional experience in Finance, preferably with Chartered Financial Analyst designation, you will work with the external Investment Consultant to regularly update Asset Liability Studies, and monitor and recommend investment selections based on daily basis and long-term trend analyses and fee benchmarking.

  • Leveraging your seven years of experience in asset management/investment of retirement assets or similar products, you determine needs, strategies, and recommend appropriate pension contributions.

  • As a trusted advisor, you will supply tactical and strategic implementation of mergers and acquisitions.

  • Successfully engaging inside and outside the organization, you will maintain trustee/custodian bank relationships and supply data to auditors and the Account department for financial reporting.
