Where the Chemistry Happens…
BASF's Diverse Leaders Program provides highly motivated, mobile-minded MBA graduates an opportunity to enhance their leadership expertise and continue on an executive development path through coaching & mentorship and strategic, immersive learning experiences.
Our team is looking for an individual with a comprehensive Technical/Manufacturing background who demonstrates effective interpersonal skills to provide technical and administrative guidance to operations, and the business with a focus on asset management in order to optimize the assets and support sustainable profitable growth through coordination and implementation of asset development plans.
This assignment will be located in Geismar, LA which serves as the largest BASF site in North America. The Geismar site produces chemicals that are vital to the sustainability of our economy and quality of life. This site is also one of BASF’s six Verbund sites in the world, which allows BASF to add value as one company through the efficient use of our resources. The more than 1,200 employees and 1,000 contractors contribute to the maintenance and operation of the site’s 32 production facilities.
Participants will explore career options that will provide them the opportunity to deliver and impact our business and customers. Participants also have the opportunity to assess their capabilities, skills, and interests and gain valuable exposure to BASF's culture, values, and decision-makers.
You will gain hands-on experience in global business topics and deliver strategic impactthrough P&L exposure/responsibility with projects geared from strategy to implementation
This program is targeted towards traditionally underrepresented cultural groups, including but not limited to African American, Asian, Latino/Hispanic, Native American, or Pacific Islander descent
Upon completion of the program, which includes either a 2-year leadership assignment or two, 1-year leadership assignments, you will be participate in a competitive selection process for full time roles that include, but are not limited to Asset Management, Operations, Production, Technology, or Site Leadership.
Leveraging your leadership capabilities and project management experience, you will manage multiple stakeholders and partner across the organization to ensure business growth, while providing visibility to senior leaders throughout the company

Formula for Success:
Candidates who have completed their MBA within the past 5 years (2017—2022)
BS in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or related technical discipline preferred
Prior Manufacturing/Chemical industry experience required
Minimum of 7 years' work experience
Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or future sponsorship
Commitment to relocate anywhere in the U.S. during and upon place off from the program
Support operations within the Amines cluster, as well as site growth activities
Demonstrating your prior experience in manufacturing where you gained strong technical skills, you will establish tactical plant goals and objectives to ensure safe and reliable plant operation with a continuous improvement mindset.
Your knowledge and understanding of occupational and process safety as well as quality management will be essential as you will be accountable for ensuring compliance with EHS requirements for the PSM/RMP plants as well as leading all EHS and Quality Audits within the cluster.
Your effective interpersonal skills will serve you well to provide technical and administrative guidance to operations, asset and maintenance, and the business in order to optimize the assets and achieve the production plans. You will lead by example and set the environment for taking risks within the organization by addressing constraints and enabling resources.
Significant fiscal oversight experience
