Where the Chemistry Happens
In your role as the NBD Pour-Point Depressants, you will be responsible for EHS and Information protection and Compliance and Code of Conduct. You will live and promote "we never compromise on safety", follow all environment, health and safety related precautions and insure business related information and documents should be protected against misuse or loss by appropriate Information protection measures. Through actively representing BASF Group interests, you will act as a role model with regards to Compliance and Code of conduct, ensure adherence to legal regulations and the company’s internal guidelines as well CORE values and principles.
Formula for Success
Your advanced knowledge of the oilfield industry will be vital as you develop launch concepts to bring new products to market, develop a regular price change policy based on the supply/demand situation in the market cost development, and desired market share, and translate unmet market needs into development priorities for the R&D team. You will also be responsible for developing and keeping business cases for R&D projects and topics up to date. Experience in the field of paraffin inhibition will be considered an asset.
Utilizing your excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, interpersonal, and people management skills, you will lead the EVG efforts for the customer teams, represent BASF in industry networks and build relationship to decision makers along the value chains and work together with Communications to develop customer presentations and marketing materials and brand management for the portfolio.
Leveraging your education in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, other technical disciplines with be considered with relevant industry experience, you will manage products on the watch list for deletion and either growing them within timeline agreed or managing cancellation. Additionally, you will screen out of portfolio requests from sales and decide whether to take them into the Oilfield portfolio based on Business Rules, commitment from customers, and availability/desire of the producing unit. An MBA will be considered an asset.
Demonstrating a self-motivated, customer-focused, entrepreneurial mindset, and resourcefulness with strong follow-through, you will develop annual R&D budget for Classical Oilfield, ensures efficient and effective use of resources for Cementing and Selected Ingredients, and gather and report market intelligence from competitors and customers. You will also be responsible for organizing the Monthly Report from the Sales Channels.
Your solid technical ability and track record with excellent customer-facing skills will be essential as you set the mid-term strategy for the Business Line in accordance with the SBU strategy and build contacts between key BASF stakeholders and customer stakeholders to drive value creating discussions.
You will require a high level of tolerance for ambiguity, including a willingness to take calculated risks and implement novel market approaches, a willingness to question the status quo, and the ability to challenge current methodologies to achieve best-in-class practices.
