Global R&D Project ExcellenceExpert (1901753) – Iselin, NJ

Wherethe Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to fill the Global R&D Project Excellence Specialist role in Iselin, NJ. In this role, reporting to the Head of Global R&D Controlling, you will be part of the newly created PMO excellence team. As the representative of the central PMO, you will act as a consultant, proactively providing professional project management support to the various Catalysts (CC) strategic business units including standards, processes, techniques, and best practices. You will work closely with business unit innovation teams, project managers, and R&D to define and implement established project management methods and tools to drive effective and efficient project planning and execution, acting as a “neutral” team member in complex strategic projects with an unbiased view on potential risks and suggestions on improvement measures.

This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your experience leading and managing complex schedule driven projects that are strategic in nature and broad in scope. You will also showcase any experience you may have with project management in an innovation based business environment / organization.

Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your education in Finance, Engineering, Business Administration,Natural Sciences or a similar discipline (PMP/PMI certification stronglypreferred) combined with your experience in a project/program managementrole with demonstrated ability to lead the development and implementationof projects and project management programs, you will develop project management capabilitiesthrough coordination of formal training and on-demand coaching of projectmanagers to improve project planning and execution consistency with thegoal of increasing speed and quality of R&D projects.

  • Your ability to influence and lead change will be essential as youpromote knowledge sharing culture in the division by leading projectdebriefings, post launch analysis, and best practice sharing.

  • Your advanced consulting skills will enable you to act as a consultantfor R&D projects by supporting the team with project managementmethods and tools to effectively drive projects to completion.

  • Your demonstrated ability to think strategically,identify key issues and risks and provide recommendations will aid you inactively helping to bring the Catalysts innovation management communitytogether on relevant innovation topics such as: continuous improvement ofcurrent processes, sharing best practices from project debriefings, workshopswith experts, etc.

  • Demonstrating your advancedknowledge of project management, change management, and process improvement methodologiesand standards, you will provide operational support for projects when necessary,including assisting with business case preparation, milestone setting andtracking, scheduling tasks, etc.

  • Your strong communication and interpersonal skills willbe a valued asset as you work closely with R&D Controlling on reporting andtracking R&D KPIs and portfolio metrics for the division.

  • Relying on your in-depth understanding of how market dynamics andexternal environmental factors affect the P&L of a company, combinedwith your self-motivation to work independently and as part of a cross-functionalteam, you will develop and maintain a good understandingof products, business strategies & P&Ls.
