Operations Manager, Trading CCM (2201143) – Iselin, NJ
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to join our team and have overall accountability and responsibility for the Operations, Vault and Transportation functions for the business unit Precious and Base Metals Services (CCM).
As an Operations Manager, you will proactively provide guidance, challenges, consults, as well as partner with the business to ensure appropriate risk management, internal controls, and compliance with relevant guidelines. In addition, you will supervise a team of 12 and actively promote performance and strategic optimization through organizational and personal development.
Formula for Success
Leveraging your Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline with your experience in a trading back office or fast-paced financial services environment, you will be responsible for processing of Trading Activity.
Your ability to plan projects and lead people will be key, as you ensure the timely input and accuracy of all trades and leases entered the trading system, including daily review and approval of trade blotters, as well as reconciliation of Broker (futures) positions including review of the daily Margin reconciliation and approving payments to or receipts from brokers.
Demonstrating your ability to lead, manage, motivate, and develop a high-performance operations team, you will coach and develop team members to reach their full potential, support development assignments and movement of talent, create an inclusive environment which embraces and derives value from diversity, as well as execute performance and career development discussions.
Relying upon your detailed understanding of trading operations such as hedging, futures and spot trading, you will be responsible to ensure timely and accurate communication to Traders about metal positions, as well as reviewing the Confirm Tracking report daily to ensure that all trade confirmations have been sent and that 3rd party confirmations have been received and recorded.
Displaying your knowledge of precious metal vault, logistics and depository operations, you will manage the daily confirmation of depository balances and the approval of daily releases of metal to domestic and foreign depositories. You will also manage the accurate and timely recording of metal account balances through the review and approval of pool-to-pool metal account transfers and those transfers generated by lease agreements.
Utilizing your unique numerical and analytical skills you will manage the accurate and timely input of physical shipment sales orders in SAP, as well as the communication to the Union Vault regarding physical shipments and receipts. You will also ensure the timely and accurate updating of trading system and SAP for all metal movements.
Your proficiency with Microsoft Office applications will be essential as you manage the billing and accuracy of miscellaneous Transportation fees charged to customers for physical shipments. You will also manage personnel to ensure that all Transportation procedures are followed in compliance with company storage and armored carrier agreements
Combining your exceptional orientation to details and organizational skills, you will manage personnel to ensure the accuracy of intercompany metal account balances and monthly reconciliations are completed for metal account customers and depositories, as well as manage the timely communication and resolution of debit pool balances and discrepancies.
Applying your ability to manage the internal and external audit process from beginning to end, you will be responsible for accuracy of Master Data and ensuring compliance with Anti Money Laundering/Know Your Customer regulations. You will also ensure that awareness of and compliance with BASF guidelines, Dodd-Frank, EMIR and Escheatable regulations exists and reporting requirements are met, as well as compliance with CCM metal limits.
Your outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of the organization and external customers will serve you well, as you ensure that a robust system of internal controls exists to safeguard the assets (metal) for CCM and satisfy internal and external audit and Financial Reporting Compliance (FRC), as well as serve as lead contact for internal and external audits for Operations, Vault & Logistics .
Your demonstrated ability to identify, lead and drive change management opportunities aimed at continuous improvement will be essential, as you, drive optimization projects and measures. You will also be responsible for the My Account website where customers can access their metal account statements online, as well as provide CCM customers with Marine Cargo Insurance certificates
