Senior Chemical Plant Operator 3 rd Shift – Livonia, MI
An energetic, self-starter is being sought to join the Livonia operations team.
The successful candidate will perform the tasks required to manufacture and ship polyurethane specialties products in a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner. After successfully completing an orientation and training program on first shift, the candidate will be assigned to a work assignment in the production department on third shift.
Operators are expected to become cross-trained in most if not all areas over the course of their career. All assignments require candidates to safely operate sit-down fork trucks and standup reach trucks.
The successful candidate is required to actively participate in site environmental, health and safety programs, as well as all continuous improvement initiatives.
Likely Job Assignment Requirements include:
Production - Building batches with liquid and solid chemicals following batch sheet instructions. Filling containers and preparing them for shipment.
Truckwell - Loading and unloading tank trucks and railcars. Driving yard tractor, moving trailers on site.
Shipping/receiving - unloading & loading box trailers and processing of all associated paperwork, including daily computer work, use of bar code scanners and use of advanced math skills to convert measurements as required.
The Chemical Plant Operator will work an 8-hour 3 rd (midnight) shift Sunday-Friday (22:30PM – 07:00AM) with overtime as required. This position will start out on the day shift for the first 2-4 months for training (6:30AM – 3:00PM) and then move to the midnight shift.

High School Diploma or GED
2 years fork truck driving experience
1 years chemical manufacturing experience
Batch managed, chemical production environment
Mechanically inclined, comfortable working with equipment
Leadership skills and aspirations
