What you can expect

The safety of the plants present at BASF is both an obligation and a challenge. The subject area of technical safety encompasses functional safety involving machinery, plants and package units, along with issues of reliability in order to ensure asset integrity. We handle this topic across the board and act as a capable point of contact for our worldwide customers in all technical and normative matters.

  • You will select and apply appropriate risk assessment methods as well as preparing and evaluating technical safety concepts.

  • In the process, you will combine established methods and procedures with new methodological approaches in order to implement safety and reliability requirements as efficiently as possible.

  • In addition, you will implement employee training activities, participate in safety considerations and advise our customers.

  • You will work closely with colleagues in plant safety and occupational safety.

  • Furthermore, you will be available in a supporting capacity as a point of contact for other colleagues across the entire lifecycle of a plant or system.

  • Moreover, you will be involved in creating standards within and outside BASF.

What we expect

  • You have a degree in a technical or engineering-related field and have experience in automation engineering or mechanical engineering, which you have gained in the fields of engineering, operations or maintenance.

  • Relevant technical standards such as IEC 61508, IEC 61511, IEC 62061 and ISO 13849 and the associated methods are not new to you.

  • It is easy for you to identify the needs and requirements of customers and partners and provide them with optimal advice. You enjoy working in a team in order to reach goals together.
