What you can expect

Within the group Knowledge Architecture & Innovation in our unit Digitalization in R&D, you will be responsible for exploring and developing new procedures to handle chemical and biological data in our knowledge systems using latest technologies and algorithms.

  • You will apply computer based methods for the representation, retrieval, and analysis of chemical information in knowledge applications in R&D.

  • You will apply and extend technologies to extract and integrate chemical entities, related property data, applications, and relationships from scientific documents and results from data analysis and simulation.

  • You will create new methods for representing, querying, and analyzing chemical entities and related data in scientific knowledge graphs.

  • You will be part of a highly motivated interdisciplinary team of experts and work in close collaboration with the R&D community.

What we expect

  • You have earned a degree in chemistry/cheminformatics or bioinformatics.

  • You possess experience in computer science as well as in methods and technologies for managing chemical entities in R&D knowledge applications.

  • You are familiar with methods for extracting chemical data from scientific documents, construction of scientific knowledge graphs and information retrieval.

  • You have sound experience with machine learning algorithms applied in chemistry.

  • You have excellent organizational and analytical skills and gained experience in agile projects. Your entrepreneurial drive supplements your goal-oriented working style and you stand out by collaborating effectively in interdisciplinary teams.

  • Preferably, you have sound programming skills in Python and/or Java using for to implement prototypic solutions on Neo4J.
