What you can expect

We are looking for a candidate to join our unit Safety Technology for an internship within a period of three to six months. Our unit is committed to scientific and technical aspects of process safety at BASF.

  • During this internship, you will work on a sensitivity study for the establishment of FLACS and on the automation of simulation setups for standard cases.

  • In the process, you will independently identify significant factors influencing the simulation and incorporate them into the guidelines for using FLACS.

  • In addition, you will support the team and contribute ideas with regard to a global 3D model database for FLACS with reference to the Ludwigshafen plant.

What we expect

  • You are studying process engineering, chemical engineering or mechanical engineering and have excellent grades.

  • Ideally, your studies have already given you some initial knowledge in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.

  • You are also proficient in using the standard IT applications and ideally have gained experience with CFD simulations such as Fluent and/or OpenFOAM.

  • You impress with your proactive and confident communication in English as well as German, both as part of a team and independently.
