The Global Engineering Services Division is responsible for the implementation of BASF's plant construction projects. We advise and support the various corporate divisions by providing expert services throughout the plant's life cycle, such as automation, process or mechanical engineering. We push forward innovations in all areas of the chemical industry - and turn laboratory developments into worldwide production plants.
What you can expect
The Materials Engineering unit makes significant contributions to the safety, reliability and economic efficiency of our plants worldwide. We provide expertise in a practice-oriented manner during process technology development, engineering and operation.
With your knowledge about plant components and their properties under typical chemical operating conditions, you are a sought-after contact person.
Based on a solid understanding of the functioning of equipment as well as the materials used, you will provide materials engineering advice throughout the entire life cycle of production plants.
You will work closely with colleagues from different partner units (e.g. engineering, maintenance, production, workshops) on an interdisciplinary basis.
In addition, you will perform condition assessments as well as damage analyses of plant components and propose remedial measures.

Master Degree in mechanical engineering
Sound knowledge of materials engineering, ideally in combination with experience in corrosion of metallic materials
