What you can expect

We are looking for a candidate to join our research unit as soon as possible as a postdoc for 12 months. There is a possibility to extend the employment for another 12 months.

  • As part of an enthusiastic global team of experts in our competence center Analytics you will provide chemometric assistance to solve analytical problems.

  • Together with our scientists you will develop chemometric models to support the analytical services for research, development and production.

  • In this context, you can bring in your broad experience in data pretreatment as well as chemometric methods and algorithms.

  • You will use all kinds of analytical data from research laboratories as well as production plants to develop novel prediction approaches, including PLS, PCA, LDA, SVM and other statistical methods.

  • Through your independent work, you will actively participate within our team of experts in the BASF innovation process.

What we expect

  • You have successfully finished your studies in chemistry, physics, analytics or a comparable discipline.

  • Your PhD had a focus on chemometric evaluation of analytical data.

  • Therefore, you have a strong expertise in chemometrics, statistics and model development, preferably by using your suitable software knowledge, e.g. R, Python, MATLAB or Unscrambler.

  • You enjoy understanding complex problems and take initiative to develop new as well as creative approaches to solve them.

  • You communicate effectively with representatives of various disciplines in German and/or English and enjoy achieving successes as part of a team.
