What you can expect
An important BASF approach for sustainable production with minimized Carbon footprint is based on integrated Verbund sites and an increasing use of green electricity. Among others, the Automation Technology team is working on this. An important pilar of the Verbund Concept is the dynamic use of excess energy from exothermic reactions across different plants in the Verbund. Resulting challenges are high dependencies between production plants and steam management. This requires a robust and resilient Verbund Operation setup to manage the close integration of all production plants not only in normal operation but especially in dynamic scenarios such as startup, shutdown, or changing plant loads.
You will develop robust process control concepts for the Verbund steam system and the production plants.
Using innovative technologies in the fields of multivariable control, real-time optimization and data analytics to optimize BASF production facilities.
You develop robust process management concepts based on a deep understanding of the process and in-depth control technology knowledge.
Moreover, you will work with our internal customers in continuously optimizing implemented advanced automation applications.
Finally, you will be involved in our technology development and identify new methods and potentials of process automation for demanding applications.
What we expect
Successfully completed master degree or PhD of chemical engineering, electrical engineering, or automation technology
In-depth knowledge and relevant project experience in the field of Advanced Automation or Process Control (dynamic modeling of chemical processes, development of benefit studies, implementation of process control solutions)
Collaboration in a highly qualified, challenging and interdisciplinary team on complex technical problems
Strong communication skills in English and German as well as cooperation
Acting responsibly to achieve BASF's goals in the long term
Onboarding to help you settle in quickly, ensuring you are part of the BASF team from day one.
Development discussions and programs so that you can reach your full potential.
Health and wellbeing programs to help you achieve better health and work-life balance.
An attractive competitive salary that is based on the company's success and your individual performance.
Contribute to Technical Expertise, BASF's think tank, with your innovative knowledge and shape new technologies!
