What you can expect

The Petrochemicals division is the "Heart of the Verbund". It produces and markets a broad portfolio of Petrochemicals. The chemicals are used among others in PET bottles, antifreezing agents, coatings, superabsorbent polymers, carbonated drinks or cling films to name only a few examples.

For our planned large-scale BASF is looking for a project team which will plan our new facilities for BASF in Asia. The conceptualization phase will take place in Ludwigshafen for two years. After that you will have the opportunity to continue the detailed planning and realization in Asia. Our objective is our mission "Excellence in Petrochemicals!"

  • While planning our new facilities for BASF in Asia, you act as the primary contact for research and development.

  • You manage all raw material questions, logistics, technology related safety aspects as well as product specification and manufacturing technology.

  • Furthermore, you ensure risk control measures and drive cost reduction initiatives based on the product portfolio and product issues.

  • You take care of the safety of design, process and operational issues.

  • Finally, you support the application for the project's initial and final approval as well as the preparation of operation manuals including start-up and shutdown procedures.

What we expect

  • You will be part of our project team in Ludwigshafen for the preparation of the project. Later, you will transfer to Asia for detailed engineering and realization of the project.

  • You hold a degree in chemical engineering, process engineering or chemistry and have gained long term operational experience in research, production or projects in technical environment.

  • Furthermore, you have profound knowledge in petrochemistry technologies, processes and products.

  • You need to be familiar with either acrylic acid, acrylate esters, oxo, cracker products, propane dehydrogenation, ethylene oxide or syngas technologies.

  • Additionally, you know the strategies and goals of the business unit as well as the client and market requirements in your operational area.

  • Finally, you speak excellent German and English and like to work in intercultural teams. You are able to present your findings and ideas from shop floor to upper management level in a convincing way.
