What you can expect
Join our R&D Data Science team at the unit Digitalization in Research and Development and provide BASF-wide data solutions for multiple application areas. This comprises materials sciences and materials development, process and quality control which are based on data analysis, data based modeling and optimization.
You will be responsible for projects in this field and closely co-operating with R&D, engineering, central functions and business units.
You will actively identify needs of researchers, translate these into R&D software specifications and manage the development.
You will communicate ideas and solutions of data architecture and big data technology to a broad community of researcher scientists and developers and therefore, you will be acting as an enabler in interdisciplinary project teams.
You will also establish and maintain collaborations with academic research groups in that domain while evaluating new approaches and exploring new application opportunities.
What we expect
You have a background in chemistry, preferably in theoretical chemistry and already gained experience in processing chemical structures with computer algorithms.
You have experience in at least one of the software suits by BioVia, IDBS, Dotmatics, labVantage, or comparable.
Experience in Master Data and Inventory Management are an advantage.
You already gained working knowledge of web-based application development, and preferably working experience in agile methodologies.
Your profile is completed by your creative and motivated working style with a strong focus on innovation as well as your excellent communication skills which define you as an effective team player.
