What you can expect

The Petrochemicals division is the "Heart of the Verbund". It produces and markets a broad portfolio of Petrochemicals. The chemicals are used among others in PET bottles, antifreezing agents, coatings, superabsorbent polymers, carbonated drinks or cling films to name only a few examples.

For our planned large-scale BASF is looking for a project team which will plan our new facilities for BASF in Asia. The conceptualization phase will take place in Ludwigshafen for two years. After that you will have the opportunity to continue the detailed planning and realization in Asia. Our objective is our mission "Excellence in Petrochemicals!"

  • You coordinate, organize and monitor the implementation of technical measures, considering operating procedures, thereby you ensure the availability of the technical plants for the production.

  • In addition, you support the Project Operations Manager, the Technology Manager and the Asset Manager with their project tasks.

  • You develop qualification concepts for operators and coordinate the knowledge transfer to the local operations teams.

  • Moreover, you will play an active role in the planning and commissioning of new plants as well as in conversion measures.

  • Furthermore, you carry out risk assessments and safety briefings as you are the responsible for safety, health and environmental protection issues on the operational level.

  • You support the development of logistic concepts and participate in the development of non-conformance management concepts.

What we expect

  • After completing your apprenticeship as a craftsman or technical specialist, you are qualified as a foreman in the area chemistry and have gained project experience.

  • As a production or plant manager, you have already gained management experience and have dealt with petrochemical technologies.

  • You need to be familiar with either acrylic acid, acrylate esters, oxo, cracker products, propane dehydrogenation, ethylene oxide or syngas technologies.

  • Moreover, you already gained extensive professional experience in the production area and know about maintenance, operating and process engineering, quality assurance and safety, health and environmental protection.

  • Finally, you are open-minded considering new ideas, developing and accepting changes and help shaping them.
