Brand Manager - Corn, Soybean, & Horticulture - (1900905)

Where the Chemistry Happens

The Brand Manager – Corn, Soybean, & Horticulture (Hort) is responsible for the Corn, Soybean, & Horticulture brand strategy as it relates to the overall crop solution campaign, ensuring the annual product-on-ground (POG) budget/s are achieved as well as managing the associated advertising, sales and promotion (ASP) budget.

  • Lead the development of all Corn, Soybean, & Horticulture brands as part of the overall Corn, Soybean, & Horticulture crop solutions by working closely with Corn, Soybean, & Horticulture Market Manager, Technical Service, Sales, and Customer Service Team (CST) to implement an effective campaign for growers, retailers, and retail agronomists

  • Develop annual Brand Strategy, linked to annual overall Corn, Soybean, & Horticulture crop solution plan, based on confirmed grower needs/trends utilizing advice, services and products to achieve an annual POG budget while effectively directing an annual associated ASP budget for content creation

  • Support the Senior Brand Manager – Insecticides in managing the profitability of the Corn/Soy/Hort Insecticide portfolio through market mix, lifecycle management, competitive insights, and accurate financial planning that drives 10Y planning and resources

  • Brand champion for Corn/Soy/Hort Insecticides, ensuring a consistent brand

positioning across the crop by working with other Crop Managers and Corn, Soybean, & Horticulture Market Manager.

  • Align Corn, Soybean, & Horticulture brands to the overall crop solution campaign with the overall

go-to-market strategy of BASF Canada, be involved with the product launch excellence (PLE) process at submission on assigned brands, and work closely with the Senior Brand Manager – Insecticides to set annual financial and accrual budgets as well as long-term forecasts

  • Participate in the coordination, communication and integration of the Corn, Soybean, & Horticulture Crop Solution campaign internally with Sales, CST and Marketing as well as externally with Channel partners as assigned

  • Work closely with Corn, Soybean, & Horticulture Market Manager and CST team to support the annual financial and accrual budget development as well as providing input into long-term forecasting and planning

  • Provide support to market program development and participate on Head Office account customer strategies. Interaction with regional marketing to generate support and provide project justification as appropriate to meet long range market objectives and support current and future product offers

Formula for Success

  • BSc in Business/Marketing or Agriculture

  • Minimum 5 years in sales and / or a marketing-support role, preferably within the agricultural industry

  • Sound understanding of marketing, sales and customer relationship management

  • An understanding of growers, distributors and agronomy for the crop protection industry

  • Must possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills as well as a proven record of achieving goals

  • Strong interpersonal skills including listening, presenting, writing, team work and the ability to lead a team

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

  • Ability to travel across Canada
