Senior Statistician (2001889) – Morrisville, NC
Where the Chemistry Happens
The Regulatory Science Seeds and Traits (RSS) Senior Statistician will be responsible for providing statistical support to the design and analysis of regulatory studies in support of global deregulation and approval of seed and trait agriculture products across crops. These studies provide the basis for the regulatory safety assessments of our products worldwide. Areas of accountability include (i) consultation on study design and sample size estimation, (ii) statistical analysis, review, QC and validation, (iii) writing and review of statistical reports or statistical sections of study reports, and (iv) up to date on statistical requirements from regulatory authorities and respond to regulatory questions. The Senior Statistician will support RSS studies in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) and regulatory guidance. The work occurs within a global network of people, including study directors, scientists, product safety managers, regulatory affairs managers and QAU,etc.
Formula for Success
PhD degree in statistics, biostatistics or closely related field with at least 2 years of related experience, or aMS degree in statistics, biostatistics or closely related field with at least 6-8 years of related experience, or aBS degree in statistics, biostatistics or closely related field with at least 10 years of related experience.
Familiar with experimental design, sample size calculation, linear models, generalized linear models, non-linear models, multivariate, categorical data analyses, simulation and data visualization.
Experience in agricultural, biotechnology or pharmaceutical regulatory studies required. Experience of working under GLP or GCP preferred.
Consulting experience related to experimental design, statistical analysis and interpretation.
Experience in quality control procedures to ensure validity and quality of the statistical analysis and interpretation.
Demonstrated technical writing skills with writing reports or manuscripts.
Demonstrated ability to plan project activities and timelines.
Strong SAS programming skills in areas of data handling, modeling, reporting and graphics. SAS certificates preferred.
Proficient in R or other statistical software/tools.
Skilled in machine learning, data mining or data management.
Familiar with Microsoft Office.
Self-organization, planning and problem solving skills. Attention to detail.
Constructive and proven team working attitude.
Ability to effectively communicate with customers from various backgrounds.Skilled in technical writing and documentation.
