What You'll Be Doing - We are seeking a professional like you to support day-to-day supply stream procurement activities for the assigned category mix and to support the implementation of category strategies. In the position of Local Technical Buyer within our G-EDP/GS Global Procurement unit at Colors & Effects, a brand of BASF, you will provide regional input related to supply and demand market dynamics for the development of the category strategy. You will also routinely engage with the associated plants and suppliers in an effort to align supplier capabilities with BASF strategic priorities and explore creative and strategic supply solutions for new and existing supplies, services, and equipment.
Development and implementation of procurement strategies and procurement processes including all connected activities
In alignment with internal partners, you will analyze the procurement risks and opportunities, you will implement contracts and secure a stable, reliable and profitable supply & service set up over the long term.
You will manage the supplier qualification and evaluation activities, you will also drive the consequent improvement activities.
Using your negotiation and analytical skills, you will steer negotiations with suppliers and be accountable for awarding and implementing contracts.
You will be responsible for developing your product/ supplier portfolio, reduce single source cases and generate savings.
As a subject matter expert, you will lead and manage sourcing process (RFI, RFQ, RFP, etc.) for key strategic contracts to ensure the most competitive supply advantage for BASF.
You will guarantee a systematic and regular follow-up of running projects and subsequent reporting.
You will regularly report your results to upper management.
Your strong strong communication skills will be a valued asset as you conduct market intelligence research by interacting with key suppliers, industry associations, and internal stakeholders to collect industry-relevant information to assess current and future impact to BASF. In addition, you will support purchase order creation and processing as needed.

Shine With Colors & Effects! Do You Have What It Takes?
B.S. in business, supply chain, or related field.
A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience (procurement or sales).
A minimum of 2 years of procurement experience.
Experience in manufacturing, technical or engineering functions in manufacturing environments.
Strong analytical skills, negotiation experience, and good technical understanding.
Entrepreneurial drive, have a commercial approach with strategic mindset, collaborate for achievement and strong communication skills.
Master's Degree or MBA? Great, we'll help you put those skills to work!
Have you worked in a Manufacturing company? Great!
If you have experience in a Chemical Industry, that is a plus.
