EHS Specialist (ID: 2101397) – Quincy, FL

Where the Chemistry Happens

BASF is seeking a professional like you to drive and promote our EHS program management and initiatives by ensuring that regulations and workplace safety standards comply in accordance to corporate and regulatory requirements for our manufacturing sites and communities. This role will primarily support the Quincy FL Site and will occasionally assist with EHS related projects and initiatives that affect the business.

Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your educational and/or professional background in EHS, you will provide technical and regulatory expertise to the Quincy FL site, oversee the Environmental, Occupational Safety & Industrial Hygiene programs, provide assistance to the site’s Emergency Planning, Process Safety, MSHA & Contractor Safety programs, lead responsible management of corporate, local, state and federal programs and initiatives to improve workplace operations, control hazards and ensure environmental compliance.

  • Successfully engaging within the organization, you will work with staff and the Site Leadership team on goal planning and alignment.

  • Demonstrating your EHS experience and strategic thinking, you will support BASF Responsible Care© Management Systems, including effective implementation of BASF standardized EHS processes, and participation in management system reviews.

  • Your ability to identify and prioritize issues and opportunities and drive change will be a valued asset as you coordinate with the BASF's EHS Centers of Expertise and others on development of processes and initiatives to ensure continuous improvement in EHS.

  • Working with a results-oriented mindset, you will ensure effective communication of new / modified internal and external EHS requirements and help with implementation.

  • Your strong written and verbal communication skills will serve you well as you facilitate the sharing of programs, procedures, tools, and successfully demonstrated practices at the Quincy Site and other ED locations.

  • Using strong proficiency and skills in presenting information and teaching will enable you to effectively educate the workforce on new and changing requirements and concepts

  • Your analytical and problem-solving abilities will be essential as you navigate complex audit, compliance, and regulatory processes while managing competing priorities.

  • Demonstrating your exceptional safety orientation will be vital as you collaborate and interface with business partners and functional teams where the ability to gain cooperation is critical.

  • Professional certification(s) as a Safety Professional or other relevant EH&S subject area, as well as MSHA knowledge & experience is desirable.
