BASF Site Logistics Manager in Regina, Saskatchewan

As a member of the Regina Leadership Team, the purpose of the Site Logistics Manager, is to ensure the efficient execution of Warehouse & Inbound Logistics functions. Primary areas of focus are incoming material scheduling, inbound freight, site warehousing, receiving and storage of bulk/dry products and the shipment of finished goods to the distribution network in accordance with the provided country distribution plan.

This is a highly strategic position which will provide collaboration between the business and the Regina site as it relates to supply of locally produced products.

The above activities to be performed in compliance with established internal/external EHS standards, industry accepted principles of product stewardship and all applicable provincial and federal laws and regulations.

PRINCIPALRESPONSIBILITIES:

Ø Lead the Logistics, Warehousing, Tank Farm & Scheduling functions for the site.

Ø Develop an efficient and high performing logistics organizational structure, recruit, develop and empower employees while fostering functional cooperation and teamwork.

Ø Accountable for the continuous improvement of process and safe technical working practices in all Logistics areas of the facility.

Ø Assist in the development and implementation of capital planning in accordance with Corporate policy and subject to the operational requirements of the site.

Ø Collaborate with the Site Leadership Team to minimize production downtime, provide flexible site schedules, while keeping safety, quality and continuous improvement at the top of mind.

Ø Partner with the EHS and Production teams to optimize sustainability, waste disposal and regular site activities.

Ø Develop and implement programs to ensure technical legal compliance with all Government, Provincial and local laws and statutes, corporate policies, guidelines, and good practices.

Ø Develop and maintain excellent relationships with local authorities, statutory bodies and key third party stakeholders

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE :

Ø 8 years’ of demonstrated progressive leadership experience & proven success leading a logistics team.

Ø Demonstrated experience with materials planning.

Ø Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution, or a combination of relevant technical or professional education and experience.

Ø Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing/service/logistics provider environment – agricultural chemical process an asset.

Ø Microsoft Office and functional knowledge of SAP.

Ø Solid working knowledge of applicable codes and regulations eg: Transport Canada, TDG, AWSA

Ø Demonstrated success in maintaining and improving a culture focused on safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Ø Effective verbal and written communication abilities.

Ø Demonstrated ability to organize and plan.

Ø Demonstrated ability to respond to change and work within fluid situations.

Ø Knowledge of government environment, health and safety regulations.

Ø Ability to influence and manage without authority in a way that positively motivates colleagues in a collaborative way.

Ø Solid working experience in developing and managing an annual department budget.
