Electrical & Instrumentation Technician -- 1901242 -- Savannah, GA
Electrical & BASF's Crop Protection Site in Savannah, Georgia is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician who has the skills necessary to install, maintain, and troubleshoot site instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment in order to provide safe operation with maximum production availability. The candidate will report to and receive work assignments, priorities, etc from the Maintenance Supervisor.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Completerequired repairs and tasks to instruments, controls, and electrical systems inan efficient, timely manner to restore or maintain safe operating capability.
Installand verify new instrument, control, and electrical systems according to vendorspecifications and maintenance procedures using drawings, manuals, orblueprints.
Recommendchanges to existing instruments, controls, electrical systems or equipment inorder to improve reliability, accuracy, or further optimize processes.
Recommendtools, equipment, or methods to improve the safety and timeliness of systemrepairs.
Communicateany alterations to existing instrument, control, or electrical systems toensure all site records are current and proper documentation is completed.
Maintainacceptable housekeeping standards in the work area
CompleteRoot Cause Failure Analysis investigations
Abilityto safely operate forklifts and manlifts
Knowledge and Skills demonstrated but not limited to the following:
Detailedknowledge of operations, maintenance, repair, and calibration of chemicalprocess instrumentation and controls (for level, flow, pressure, temperatureand analysis.)
Knowledgeof electronic process control systems, including programmable logic control(PLC) systems and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain these systems.
Knowledgeof electrical supply and distribution systems (motors, motor control center(MCC), transformers, lighting, wiring, etc.).
Abilityto read and troubleshoot electrical control schematics.
Knowledgeof safety regulations associated with a chemical operation
Knowledgeof safety practices and techniques relating to industrial manufacturing (LOTO,Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, Line Break)
Knowledgeof the NEC code with an understanding of working in electrically classifiedareas
Abilityto write and revise written job instructions.
Experiencewith calibrating and configuring Instrumentation using HART basedcommunicators.

Three years of I/EMaintenance experience
Abilityto work a flexible schedule and respond to call-ins and impromptu overtime onnights and weekends
Two-year technicaldegree in an I/E Maintenance field
I/E Technical Certifications
Working Knowledge ofcomputers, MS Windows operating system and applications such as Microsoft Word,Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Lotus Notes
