Process Development Manager (2201471)- Seneca, SC

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking an experienced Process Development Manager for our Precious Metal Chemicals business within CCM/R in North America to support our growth plan. In this role, you will support our strategy through both, timely implementation of new processes for compounds at industrial scale and improvement of existing processes.

Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a similar field, you will demonstrate extensive experience of PGM-related synthetic chemistry with focus on organometallics, process development and scale-up from lab-scale to industrial scale.

  • Relying upon your strong background in the synthesis of PGM containing salts, solutions, and organometallics, you will perform single or multi-step syntheses of PGM-containing salts and solutions of inorganic and organometallic nature at 100g to multiples of 100kg scale.

  • Demonstrating your process development and optimization related experience, you will devise new products and processes, drive the process implementation and development activities for PMC in our Seneca, SC plant, working closely with the Global Applied Technology Manager in Rome. You will also transfer processes developed in our Research & Development facilities in Rome and adapt them for the local facilities considering customer requirements, lead-time, quality, and cost.

  • Your exceptional ability to analyze, interpret and react to technical issues will be essential, as you work closely with the Operations Manager in Seneca to perform technical engineering analyses in process, chemical, mechanical, facilities and energy disciplines with the aim to improve and expand the facilities in Seneca.

  • Displaying your excellent people management and leadership skills, you will guide the local technical team in Seneca to produce high value products optimizing planning, safety, yield, throughput, and product quality for internal and third-party supply.

  • Your strong written and verbal communication skills will be key, as you communicate progress and holdups effectively and drive the technical efforts to implement solutions as part of the PMC Leadership Team. You will also summarize results, write technical reports, and effectively present information to stakeholders

  • Utilizing your demonstrated strong lab safety skills, you will support production as part of a cross-functional team in troubleshooting and Management of Change studies to ensure that EHS and technical risk are managed appropriately
