Automation Engineer (1804177) – Suffolk, VA
Where the Chemistry Happens
We will rely on your expertise in control system programming to lead life cycle strategy and planning efforts for our site control systems, as well spearhead training efforts for site automation. You will collaborate with the Operations team to execute programming modifications that improve plant performance and reliability, and to ensure operating plans are performed per established guidelines.
Formula for Success
Successfully engaging across the business, you will partner with project engineers, data historians, and other key technical personnel to complete system design, installation, check-out and commissioning phases of capital projects that involve automation – together with ongoing troubleshooting and optimization of existing equipment, processes and control systems (instruments, communications, control panels, network infrastructure).
Your expertise in a variety of programming languages including, but not limited to, Siemens APACS, Emerson DeltaV (including HMI graphics and DeltaV Batch), HIMA SPLCs, and (Siemens and Allen Bradley) PLCs, will serve as a valuable resource as you maintain the health, functionality and security of DCS system hardware and software.
Mentor and train technicians and other on-site personnel – in process control, automation and instrumentation.
Your strong understanding of Process Safety Concepts will be critical as you provide technical support for risk assessments on Management of Changes to ensure plant safety is not jeopardized.
