Business Unit Controller – TDI North America (2101068) - Wyandotte, MI

We are seeking a professional like you to serve as a member of the N-CMN/C Controlling Team and as such provide input and participate in making key management decisions of the TDI business. You will provide advice and counsel to other members of management regarding profit, risk, asset management, and cash flow consideration. You must create realistic, yet challenging budgets for the business, formulating both operating and strategic plans. You will take an active role in supporting SBU in establishing actions that will translate different coordinated initiatives into the desired outcomes of the business measured in the key KPI’s.

Formula for Success

  • Your ability to take ownership and accountability will be critical as you will be responsible for the adequacy of all financial controls and systems of the TDI Business (CMT) within CM North America.

  • Your robust analytical and computer (particularly SAP) skills will enable you to complete ad-hoc analysis to support needs of the business and/or leadership team requests. You will also be responsible for the quality and integrity of financial reporting and analysis.

  • Acting as an integral member of the CMN Controlling team, you will openly speak your mind regarding business ideas, proposals, and strategies beyond the bounds of the functional responsibilities.

  • Successfully engaging across the organization, you will proactively challenge the management team to ensure forecasts and plans are fully vetted and consider both the short-term and longer-term impact of business topics and issues. We expect you to be a willing decision maker.

  • Leveraging your education in finance or economics and your professional experience with a financial or economic background, or financial acumen that has been displayed through relevant experience, you will manage the monthly closing process, reviewing all aspects of the financial closing to ensure the accuracy and deep understanding of reported results and facilitate the timely dissemination of financial information.

  • Your ability to work well in in a dynamic environment and be able to identify and implement process improvements will be essential as you serve as a change agent within the business to proactively identify, communicate and implement opportunities for key process efficiencies to improve overall business/financial operations.

  • Working independently and handling multiple tasks simultaneously, you will coordinate and own business reviews, monthly forecasting, annual operating plan, and strategic planning processes for the supported businesses. This includes timely preparation, integrity, and accuracy of reporting along with thorough analysis of results and projections for the future to facilitate effective management decision making.

  • Your effective communication and interpersonal skills will serve you well as you remain prepared to speak on an informed basis about business developments and how they impact the financial results and upcoming forecasts. You will also actively track and report on contingency items impacting budgets both to the Leadership Team and internal to Controlling functional leadership. Additionally, you will use your communication skills as you develop and maintain strong lines of communication with business team and peers in the financial community.

  • Being an extraordinary team player, you will support the Sales & Marketing functions with analytical tools and processes to ensure that Price execution is effective.
