Learning and Development Coordinator (1802824) – Wyandotte, MI
Where the Chemistry Happens…
The Learning and Development Coordinator (LDC) serves as the training expert for the Thermoplastic Urethanes and Expanded Thermoplastic Urethanes Plants. This role leads the professional and technical training program for the plants in support a high-performance culture. This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and documentation of all training in accordance with the newly defined Performance Materials world class training standards. This role collaborates with internal and external subject matter experts and people managers to analyze training needs and to develop effective training materials.
This role serves as the plant gatekeeper and key expert for operating procedure development and maintenance, including effective management of change for procedures and training to ensure team members can safely and effectively perform their duties. This role ensures that training programs and processes comply with all regulatory and BASF standards such as EHS, ISO9001, Responsible Care®, OSHA Process Safety Management, and FDA. This role is responsible for maintaining, updating, and auditing plant personnel progression training documents and reviewing employee progression with Supervisors.
The LDC will collaborate with Wyandotte Site and Performance Materials LDCs to identify and implement best practices and to continuously improve the training program and processes. As a member of the Plant Leadership Team, the LDC is responsible to contribute to the plant’s overall performance. The LDC will also lead Lean initiatives within the plants.

Formula for Success: You Will…
Leveraging your education and experience you will assess training needs, translate job requirements into training requirements, and develop instructional materials.
Your extensive experience in training and development in manufacturing will allow you to lead and motivate learners by appealing to the characteristics of adult learners.
You will continuously improve the skills and knowledge of the ETPU and TPU Plant personnel by aligning your training style to meet the needs of our diverse team.
With your solid understanding of regulatory requirements, you will continuously improve , update and audit all training documents and procedures as required by Management of Change process and periodic reviews.
You will use your ability to interpret information, appraise performance, and assess training results to train all new BASF employees in the TPU and ETPU Plants and ensure the content is understood.
You will use your excellent communication skills to coach employees and develop a high performance and safety and quality-focused culture .
You will collaborate with peer Learning & Development Coordinators to identify and implement best practices and consistency of training across Performance Materials.
Leveraging your Six Sigma/Lean certification, preferred, you will lead Lean projects within the plant.
You will use your knowledge of Microsoft Office, Document Control Databases, and Computer Based Training programs to manage training programs and employee records.
