North American Sales Manager, Industrial (Performance Materials) - Wyandotte, MI

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a North America Sales Manager for our Performance Materials (PM) business headquartered in Wyandotte, Michigan. In this role, you will lead a team of global key account managers, regional strategic account managers, regional account managers, inside sales, as well as technical development managers, to deliver profitable organic growth in the PM Industrial business in the US, Canada and Mexico. Along with your team, you will also be responsible for the growth of global key accounts in Asia and Europe, via managing specifications with these global customers to deliver growth in Asia and Europe. You also have the coordination and support responsibility for the growth of Cast Elastomers in Asia and South America.

Reporting to the Business Director of PM Industrial and as a member of the senior Leadership Team, the North American Sales Manager will help set the overall strategic direction and roadmap of the PM Industrial business.

Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your educational background in Business or Science, along with your professional experience in Sales/Sales Management, Marketing, or Strategy, you will manage a sales team of 14 sales and business development professionals, comprised of global key account managers, regional strategic account managers, regional account managers, inside sales and technical development managers

  • Your strong business acumen will be a valued asset as you direct and implement annual and mid-term (3 years) sales, marketing and customer strategy for the North American market; you will identify new business targets and execute on these to close new business as well as generate a robust business opportunity pipeline for long term business growth

  • You will identify key business risks, propose mitigation measures, gain approval and execute plans to minimize BASF risk and maximize BASF growth

  • Your familiarity with the Thermoplastic Urethanes (TPU) Technical Sales, Urethane Elastomers, and Engineering Plastics will be a valued asset as you represent PM Industrial management and BASF Corporation decisions and communications, internally and externally

  • Leading a cross-functional team of professionals, you will build, maintain, coach and motivate an organization of senior sales professionals to deliver or exceed PM Industrial business targets
